Evansville Otters News Release
Chillicothe, OHâ The Chillicothe Paints scored four sixth inning runs to erase a 3-0 deficit, lifting the Paints to a win in the finale of the three-game series against the Evansville Otters.
The two teams were scoreless heading into the sixth, when with one out, Andrew Davie hit a ball the bounced off the top of the fence and carried over for his third homer of the year, giving the Otters a 1-0 lead. Evansville would go up 3-0 when after a single by David Trujillo, Steve Martin cranked his fifth homer of the year over the centerfield fence.
The Paints came right back in the bottom half of the inning however. A pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases for Dustin Brisson, who doubled cutting Evansville's lead to a run. After Beau Blacken popped out, Doug Dreher singled in the runners on second and third to give Chillicothe a 4-3 lead. The Paints tacked on an insurance run in the seventh for the final margin of victory.
Following a league-wide off day on Tuesday, the Otters play their second stint of cross-divisional play as they take on the Mid-Missouri Mavericks for three games at Bosse Field. Grant Williams gets the start in Wednesday's game for Evansville.
