
Otters drop first game of second half

FLORENCE, KY â J. D. Foust's seventh inning triple cleared the bases and lifted the Florence Freedom beat the Evansville Otters 7-6.
After the Freedom scored a run in the bottom of the first, the Otters put three on the board in the top of the third. Florence tied it in the bottom half of the inning before Steve Martin untied the game with his third homer of the season, a shot to center to give the Otters a 4-3 lead. The Freedom tied the gamein the fifth with a single run.
The Freedom took the lead for good when they loaded the bases with no one against Heath Heiberger. Dayle Campbell came in and allowed Foust's triple before finishing off two innings of quality baseball in relief.
The Otters put two unearned runs on the board against Freedom closer Kevin Rival in the ninth before the rally was shut down
The Otters will send Jeremy Lewis to the mound in game two of the series against James Morrison for the Freedom.
