Scouting Notes from Co-Director of Scouting, Devin Brown
Aiden Hopewell
Comments from Jason Barron, Player Development Associate - Goaltending
We are very excited to welcome Aiden to the Otters organization. We believe Aiden is just scratching the surface of his potential & look forward to watching his game further grow & develop. Aiden is a big, powerful goaltender, who possesses a strong combination of size, & skill. Hopewell tracks the puck well & prides himself on being efficient & effective in the crease while making timely saves for his team. Welcome to Erie!
Andrew McIsaac
Comments from Co-Director of Scouting, Devin Brown
Andrew is one of the more intelligent players in the draft, possessing great hands and skill. He demonstrates an ability to make plays under pressure and sees the ice well. It is not a surprise to our organization that Andrew was a point per game player. He is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer but can finish when the opportunity presents itself. Andrew plays with detail in his game, and we feel he is developed beyond his years. Welcome to the Otters organization Andrew.
Teegan Middleton
Comments from Co-Director of Scouting, Devin Brown
Teegan is a big-bodied defenceman who holds opponents accountable. His physical style was not on display this year while playing no contact, but his ability to angle opponents, lean on them along the walls, and box out in front of the net was noticeable to our staff. Teegan is mobile, and his strong edge work helps him transition from defense to offense and vice versa. He is a high-character player and demonstrates a strong desire to develop his game further. Welcome to the Otters organization Teegan.
Jack Erickson
Comments from Co-Director of Scouting, Devin Brown
Jack is one of the better skating defensemen in the draft. He is a puck mover who contributes offensively while still demonstrating a shutdown game, which speaks to his plus 20 on the season. Jack is a fierce competitor who wears his heart on his sleeve when playing the game. He enjoys the physical side of things and thrives when the going gets tough. Jack is a difficult player for opponents to play against with the attributes he brings to the table daily. Welcome to the Otters organization Jack.
Braeden Shaikh
Comments from Jason Barron, Player Development Associate - Goaltending
We are very excited to welcome Braeden to the Otters organization. Braeden is a goaltender who possesses an elite competitive nature. His feistiness in the crease is something that catches your attention immediately as a scout. Braeden's size & mobility strongly contribute to his success in the crease. He is powerful both while on his feet & while down & sliding. Braeden's versatility allows him to successfully make structured, positional saves, while also showing an ability to be break away from structure & use his athleticism to do whatever it takes to keep the puck out of the net. Welcome to Erie!
Jordan Latham
Comments from Scott Grieve, Assistant Director of Hockey Operations
Jordan is a hardworking, 200-foot player who is especially good in his own end. He has good IQ and makes sure to take care of his own end. We are excited to welcome him to the Otters organization.
