Otters Begin Seven Game, Five Day Homestand with Doubleheader

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (50-34) begin a seven-game, five-day homestand with a doubleheader against the Windy City Thunderbolts (31-56) on Wednesday night.

First pitch is set for 5:35 pm CDT at Historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.

It is Deaconess Women's Hospital Night and the doubleheader is sponsored by Carson's Brewery . Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs all night at the ballpark.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 5:15 pm CDT.

Game one will feature Otters LHP Jose Velez (1-4, 2.86 ERA) against Thunderbolts RHP Travis Tingle (8-5, 4.71). Evansville will have RHP Will Oliver (2-0, 2.18) on the bump in game two against Windy City lefty Josh Spence (1-9, 5.01).

The Otters just completed a week-long roadtrip against Traverse City and Rockford, and will now be at home from Wednesday to Sunday this week.

The Thunderbolts are 40-31 all time against the Otters buts Evansville won two of three at Windy City earlier this year (July 21-23).

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Infielder Cory Urquhart is on a five game hitting streak. Outfielder Chris Elder has hit safely in four straight games.

Evansville is 27-15 at home as Windy City is a Frontier League worst 11-31 on the road.
