OTTAWA - With the Ottawa 67's and the Gatineau Olympiques setting the stage in the inaugural ''Battle of the Ottawa River'' on December 7-8, a little bit of history will be included in the festivities as alumni from both teams will face off at the Arena at TD Place just before the main event.
With the opening face-off for the junior game set for 2 PM, the alumni teams from Ottawa and Hull (the Olympiques name changed from Hull to Gatineau following amalgamation in 2003) will hit the ice at 12:00 PM.
Doors open at 11:30 AM and a regular game ticket is needed to access the alumni game. The alumni teams will play two 25-minute periods before the young guns battle for the Alexandra Cup, which will be handed out after the game for the first time ever.
