Cleveland Gladiators News Release

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Gladiators WR OTIS AMEY has been named the Arena Football League's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. Amey becomes the second Gladiators player to earn league honors this season, after DB ROBERT REDD was named Ironman of the Week in Week 2 of the season.

Amey (5-10, 192, Sacramento State) was instrumental in the Gladiators Week 8 win over the Los Angeles Avengers last Saturday night. His career-night was highlighted when he caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from QB RAYMOND PHILYAW with 19 seconds left, sealing the Gladiators 83-69 win over the Avengers.

Amey finished with 208 yards receiving on 15 catches and six touchdowns. His 208 yards and 15 receptions both marked career-highs while his six touchdowns match his career-best - a mark that was set in Week 7 versus Colorado. In his last two games, Amey has now caught 24 passes for 331 yards and 12 touchdowns, vaulting him into a tie for second place in the AFL in scoring with 132 points. His 208 yards receiving in a single-game this season is second only to San Jose's WR CLEANNORD SAINTIL who caught 217 yards on March 22.

The Cleveland Gladiators return home on Friday, May 2 when they host Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul on $10 Buck Night. Fans receive upper level tickets for $10 or receive a $10 discount on lower bowl tickets. Great seats are still available by calling 216.685.9000, by visiting any TicketMaster location or online at www.clevelandgladiators.com.
