
Tampa Bay Storm Acquire Phil Glover

TAMPA - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm acquired fullback/linebacker Phil Glover in a trade with the San Jose SaberCats late Monday evening, announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum. Tampa Bay gave up offensive lineman Jonathan Dunn who was on the team's other league exempt list. The Storm also waived defensive backs Khalid Naziruddin and Bryant Tisdale while releasing wide receiver/linebacker David Saunders.
Glover, 6-foot-0, 265-pounds is in his sixth season in the Arena Football League. He began his professional career in 1999 as a linebacker with the Tennessee Titans and was a member of the Titans' 2000 Super Bowl XXXIV team. Glover helped the Scottish Claymores to the 2000 NFL Europe World Bowl by posting 41 tackles and 3.0 sacks in 10 starts at linebacker won a World Bowl in 2000. He spent the past two season (2006-07) with the SaberCats.
Dunn, 6-7, 328, was acquired by the Storm in the 2007 AFL dispersal draft. He did not see any action in a Storm uniform and spent the 2008 season on Tampa Bay's Exempt List.
Naziruddin, 5-10, 195, in his second season, played in seven games this season. He accumulated 28.5 tackles, four pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Tisdale, 5-10, 180, was in his first season in the AFL. He spent the season as a member of the practice squad.
Saunders, 6-2, 210, is in his eighth season. He appeared in four games this season with Tampa Bay and recorded 12 receptions for 132 yards and five touchdowns.
The Storm return to action at the St. Pete Times Forum Monday, May 5 as Tampa Bay hosts the Chicago Rush on ESPN Russell Athletic Monday Night Football. Be apart of Tampa Bay's largest Cinco de Mayo party presented by Dos Equis as the Storm play on national television. Kick off is set for 8:00 p.m.
