CURVE, Pa. - Despite being outhit 11-6, Jose Osuna's three-RBI night led the Altoona Curve offense to a 4-2 victory over the Bowie Baysox on Saturday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
With the win, the Curve (48-39) have won four straight and are now tied with the Baysox (48-39) for first place in Western Division Standings.
Osuna went 2-for-4 with his third home run of the year. Adam Frazier finished Saturday night 1-for-3 and his single in the third extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
Altoona's bats went to work right away in the bottom of the first inning off of Bowie starter Asher Tolliver (Loss, 1-1) when Osuna singled home Frazier to give the Curve a 1-0 lead.
Tucker Nathans singled against Curve starter Chad Kuhl (Win, 7-3) to tie the game 1-1 in the second inning.
With one on and two outs, Osuna hit a two-run home run in the third inning to break the tie and put the Curve ahead 3-1.
In bottom of the fourth, Edward Salcedo went deep for the first time this year to extend the Curve lead to 4-1.
Bowie cut into Altoona's lead in the seventh inning off reliever Jhondaniel Medina with a two-out double by former Curve outfielder Quincy Latimore.
Kuhl finished the night pitching six scoreless frames while scattering eight hits and striking out two batters. Curve relievers Brent McKinney and Jeremy Bleich (Save, 2) sealed Kuhl's seventh win, working the final two innings without surrendering a run.
