
O's End First Half Strong, Topping Billings 13-11

MISSOULA, MT - The Missoula Osprey (20-18) scored four runs in the 8th inning, defeating Billings (15-23), 13-11, at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field Thursday night. With two on and two out in the bottom of the 8th , left- fielder Kevin Watson's base-clearing triple helped end the first half of the 2019 season on a positive note for the Osprey.
The top four of the Osprey order scored nine of the 13 runs for the Osprey, ending with a combined 6- 13 night. Catcher Douglas Lanza boasted his most impressive night of the season offensively, finishing 3-4 with an RBI.
Osprey RHP Jared Liebelt (W, 1-0) gave up a run on one hit, while striking out two in the 8th . For the O's offense, 2B Cesar Garcia set the tone with a 2-4 night, scoring three times. SS Jose Reyes and CF Dominic Canzone both finished with two hits for the Osprey, both scoring four runs. Mustangs' right-hander Francis Peguero allowed four runs (only one earned) on two hits, taking both his second loss, as well as his second blown save of the year.
Missoula's Ryan Fritze earned his fifth save of the year, tied for second-most in the league.
Missoula committed five errors on the night, with the Mustangs making three, on their own. Prior to tonight, the O's faced a 3-14 record, when trailing into the 8th .
The second half of the 2019 starts Friday night at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field with Jack's Pub Friday Night Party. Gates open at 4 pm, with the first 750 fans receiving a DNRC double bobblehead.
