August 10, 2021 - Eastern League (EL)
Reading Fightin Phils News Release

The R-Phils dropped the first game of the series against the Akron Rubber Ducks 7-1, as the lone run came via a monster shot from Jhailyn Ortiz in the third.

Josh Hendrickson (L, 3-2) got the start for Reading, and despite running into trouble in the second, pieced together a solid performance. He went five innings allowing four runs and striking out five.

In the third, Ortiz launched a solo shot to make the deficit 4-1.

Tyler Carr was impressive in his 12th scoreless appearance of the season, as he went two innings allowing just two hits and one walk to one strikeout. His performance was capitalized on an inning-ending caught stealing on a perfect throw from Jack Conley to a swipe tag from second baseman Chris Cornelius

Aneurys Zabala came in relief for the eighth, allowing three runs on two hits in his inning of work, and was followed by Jonathan Hennigan who posted a scoreless ninth inning despite two hits in the inning.

The Fightins offense was unable to comeback in this one, as they lost with a final score of 7-1.
