Orlando City Unveils 2022 "Moniker Kit” Collection

August 26, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Orlando City SC News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC has unveiled three limited-edition "Moniker Kits" for the 2022 season. Building off the highly successful inaugural run in 2020, this year's series will play off the namesakes of Lions captain and midfielder Mauricio Pereyra, forward Facundo Torres and defender Kyle Smith, with the custom-created design featured on Orlando City's Thick N Thin kit.

The 2022 Moniker kits are now available for presale on OCMobileShop.com, with pickup opportunities beginning at City's match against New York City FC this Sunday, August 28. The kits will also be available at CITYiD in Section 14 at Sunday's match.

About the Designs:

Mauricio Pereyra - "El Maestro"

Pulling the strings in Orlando City's midfield since 2019, El Maestro is the all-time Club record holder in assists and was named captain for the 2022 season. When you need that perfect pass, Mauricio Pereyra is your man.

Facundo Torres - "El Cuervo"

Nicknamed "The Crow" by his fellow Peñarol academy players, Facundo Torres has taken flight in Orlando in 2022. Torres' keen eye for an open teammate and his signature cutback shot have resulted in many a "Cuervo" celebration in The City Beautiful.

Kyle Smith - "The Accountant"

MLS attacks beware...you're about to get audited. Kyle Smith, who worked towards his CPA before becoming a professional soccer player, has crunched the numbers on many opposing wingers in his four-year Orlando career, becoming a fan-favorite for his non-stop motor and game-saving blocks and tackles.
