
Orlando City SC Loans David Loera to Phoenix Rising FC

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC Homegrown midfielder David Loera will join USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC on loan for the remainder of the 2021 season, with the ability to terminate the loan agreement at any point throughout the loan, it was announced today. Rising, based in Phoenix, Ariz., currently sits first in USL Championship's Pacific Division, and second overall in the league, with 44 points.
"David is a player that has a strong work ethic and has continued to put in the extra effort for this Club," said Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi. "This loan presents David the opportunity to get valuable game time at one of the top clubs in USL Championship and gain important experience over the last few months of the season, while staying ready if we need to call on him. This is a situation that works out well for everyone involved and we'll be eagerly watching David's progress over this period."
Loera, 22, has made three appearances for the Lions since signing a homegrown contract at the end of 2019, making his Club debut on Oct. 3 against New York Red Bulls. returned to Orlando following three seasons at North Carolina State University, where he thrived as one of the best attacking midfielders in collegiate play.
In 2016, Loera was called up to the U.S. U-19 Men's National Team.
