Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC (12-8-10, 46 points) closes out a two-game home stint on Sunday, Oct. 24, set to host the league-leading New England Revolution (21-4-6, 69 points) at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
The match, presented by DEX Imaging, will be nationally broadcast on FS1 and FOX Deportes while being transmitted on Real Radio 104.1 in English and Acción 97.9FM, 810AM in Spanish.
"With the schedule and obviously not many days to rest and prepare, we are here trying to be very efficient on the time we share with the players. We understand the importance of every match and at the same time are trying to correct the things we need to from the past games and also visualize what we need to do to develop our game plan against New England," Head Coach Oscar Pareja said ahead of the match. "They're a team that has had a very good season, but we see a good opportunity for us to keep remarking our progress in the last weeks and put out not just a solid performance as we did against Montréal, but a complete result which is what is important at this point in adding three points on our objective of qualifying the team for the playoffs in a good position."
The Lions will look for their fifth-consecutive result on Sunday night, holding a record of 2-0-2 in their last four contests, their last loss coming at the hands of this weekend's opposition on Sept. 25 at Gillette Stadium.
City enters the match after battling to a 1-1 draw with CF Montréal on Wednesday evening at Exploria Stadium. Chris Mueller scored the lone goal for the side on the night, with Ruan earning the assist on the finish for his second helper in as many contests.
Nani leads the Lions with nine goals this season, followed by Daryl Dike with six. Mauricio Pereyra holds the team-high in assists with 10 in 2021, one shy of setting a new single-season Club record.
New England enters the weekend after taking a 3-2 road victory from D.C. United on Wednesday night. Second-half finishes from Adam Buksa, Carles Gil and Gustavo Bou led the Revs to a victory, taking all three points from Audi Field.
Bou leads the Revolution with 15 goals this season, followed by Buksa with 14. Gil leads all of MLS in assists, with 17 in total to his credit this campaign.
Following Sunday's match, the Lions face yet another quick turnaround, traveling to take on the Columbus Crew on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Lower.com Field in a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
