
Earthquakes Host Vancouver Whitecaps FC Tonight

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (9-12-9; 36 pts.) face Vancouver Whitecaps FC (11-9-10; 43 pts.) at PayPal Park tonightat 7:00 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Bay Area, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.
The Quakes will look to build on a 4-0 victory over Austin FC on Wednesday night, which kept their playoff hopes alive. San Jose could be eliminated from postseason contention with a defeat on Saturday.
San Jose will face Vancouver for the third and final time in 2021. The Quakes and Vancouver played to a scoreless draw at PayPal Park on Aug. 13 before Whitecaps FC prevailed 3-0 at BC Place on Oct. 2.
Whitecaps FC has recorded victories in four of their last six matches (4-1-1), including a 3-2 comeback win over the Portland Timbers on Wednesday, propelling them above the playoff line in the Western Conference. Vancouver has lost just once in their last 11 away matches.
The match will also celebrate the 2001 MLS Cup-winning team and the club will distribute 10,000 commemorative replica championship rings to fans before the match.
