Portland Winterhawks News Release
Orianne Greene, the woman who stayed with three-year-old Aiden Bailey after he was separated from his father getting off a MAX train last week, will perform a ceremonial puck drop prior to tomorrow's Winterhawks game vs. the Seattle Thunderbirds.
The story received national attention after an incident last week caused three-year-old Aiden to be left alone at a MAX station after the train's doors closed before his father, Aaron Bailey, could get off the train with him. Greene stayed with Aiden and comforted him for over seven minutes until Bailey could return.
"Orianne Greene is a hero, and deserves the opportunity to have the people of Portland thank her for her selfless act," said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. "We're extremely proud to be able to provide that opportunity, and we hope it will be a special moment for her."
Tomorrow's game is the annual Teddy Bear Toss, where fans throw teddy bears onto the ice after the Winterhawks' first goal, which are then later donated to local children's hospitals and charities. The Winterhawks are not only looking to top last year's franchise record of 22,392, but Calgary's WHL record of 26,919.
Fans looking for a great deal on tickets to the game can take advantage of the Teddy Bear Ten-Pack: 10 tickets and 10 Hawk Eyes hats beginning at just $120. To take advantage of this deal, contact the Winterhawks' ticket office at 503-236-HAWK or seats@winterhawks.com.
