
Opening Homestand Packed With Fun, Value

FRESNO, CA - The offseason is finally over and baseball is returning to downtown Fresno. The Fresno Grizzlies are planning to kick off the 2010 home season in style, with an eight-game homestand from Friday, April 16th to Friday, April 23rd as they take on the Portland Beavers and Reno Aces at Chukchansi Park. Fans will get a taste of everything the Grizzlies have to offer, including fireworks, giveaways, value-packed weekly promotions and world-class entertainment.
After starting the season with eight games on the road, the Grizzlies will kick off their 2010 home season this Friday, April 16th as they take on the Portland Beavers on Opening Night, presented by Wendy's, at 7:05pm at Chukchansi Park. Every fan in attendance will receive a Grizzlies Rally Card, and have the first chance to enjoy the brand new Daktronics video boards on display at the ballpark. Fans will also be entertained by a Drag Kings Performance during the game, and Opening Night Fireworks after the game. All gates will open at 5:30pm and fans are encouraged to arrive early for the traditional lineup of pregame festivities.
The homestand continues at 1:05pm on Saturday with Kids Opening Day, where all kids 12 and under will receive a free Fun Zone pass. Also, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Webkinz Lil' Kinz giveaway. The popular, interactive toys will make another appearance at the end of the season, with another giveaway scheduled for the final homestand of the year.
Sunday, April 18th will be the first Save Mart Sunday of the season, featuring a whole day's worth of family fun at the ballpark. The first 10,000 fans will receive a Magnet Schedule, courtesy of AT&T Real Yellow Pages. Fans will also have a chance to meet the stars of the future at the Future Giants Autograph Session before the Grizzlies take on Portland at 2:05pm. Following the game, kids 12 and under can take the field and Run The Bases, presented by Subway, just like their favorite Grizzlies players.
Monday Madness, presented by ABC 30, will make its 2010 debut on Monday, April 19th as the Grizzlies wrap up their series with the Beavers. Fans can enjoy a family entertainment package that includes two Field Level Reserve tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, two Wild Water Adventure Park passes and two Blackbeard's Mini Golf passes. A total package value of over $100, Monday Madness is available to Grizzlies fans for just $32, every Monday home game in 2010.
The Grizzlies welcome the Reno Aces to town for four games starting Tuesday, April 20th on Park N' Play Tuesday, presented by the Fresno Bee. Wednesday, April 21st showcases the year's first What a Deal! Wednesday, presented by KMPH Fox 26, the Grizzlies' latest addition to the weekly lineup. Fans get two Super View tickets, two "Fantasy Day" Unlimited Ride passes at Rotary Storyland & Playland, two rounds of Mini Glow Golf at Maxx Putt Fun Zone and two children's buffets at John's Incredible Pizza Co., all for only $20! The fun continues Thursday, April 22nd with the Fresno's favorite night of the week, the first Thirsty Thursday of the 2010 season, presented by Tecate. Enjoy $1 12-ounce Tecate and Tecate Light beers through the fifth inning, and $1 12-ounce sodas all night long.
The Grizzlies wrap up the eight-game set with a promotion-packed night on Friday, April 23rd. In addition to Friday Night Fireworks and a Drag Kings Performance, the first 2,500 fans will also be treated to a Grizzlies Team Photo. Fans can take those photos down to the field, where the entire Grizzlies team will be holding a pre-game autograph session. It is also Strike Out Autism Night at the ballpark, an annual event that will raise funds for the Central California Autism Center.
The Grizzlies open the home portion of the 2010 campaign on Friday, April 16th when they welcome the Portland Beavers to downtown Fresno.
