Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - Behind 27 saves from goaltender Jussi Olkinuora, the Ontario Reign rebounded from a 5-2 loss last night to take down the Wranglers 4-2 at Orleans Arena.
Ontario's Mario Lamoureux got the scoring started late in the first period with his team-leading 17th goal of the season, assisted by Sacha Guimond (8) and Matt White (19). Early in the second, Chad Nehring would answer for Las Vegas with his fifth goal of the year, assisted by Greg Coburn (5) and Justin Bernhardt (3). For Nehring, it was his second score in as many games and fourth in his last six. Ontario took the lead right back however, as Gasper Kopitar lit the lamp for the third time this season, assisted by Cameron Burt (11) and Guimond (9), putting the Reign on top for good.
Ontario would add to their lead early in the third as Riley Brace made it 3-1 with his fourth goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, Cameron Burt scored his 11th of the year to extend the lead to 4-2.
Late in the final frame, Matt Tassone would pot his ninth goal of the season to cut the deficit to 4-2, but that was as close as the Wranglers get. Bernhardt and Nehring combined on the assists, giving them both two point nights. Nehring now has five points in his last two games, while Bernhardt has piled up four over that same stretch.
