Ontario Reign News Release

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Ontario Reign (29-9-2-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, took the second game of their two-game weekend series against the Las Vegas Wranglers (11-25-3-1) by a score of 4-2 at Orleans Arena on Saturday night.

In the first period Sacha Guimond had control of the puck in the Wranglers end and fired a shot on goal. The shot came back toward Mario Lamoureux who was able to slam it home for the first goal of the game at 17:28. Matt White earned the secondary assist on the goal.

The Wranglers' Chad Nehring got one past Jussi Olkinuora 4:26 into the second period. Nehring deflected a shot from Greg Coburn. Gasper Kopitar got his second power-play goal in as many games as he received a feed at the left circle and wristed in a hard shot past Travis Fullerton for the Reign's go-ahead goal at 16:50 marking a 2-1 lead. Cameron Burt and Guimond had the assists on the goal.

Riley Brace scored the third goal of the night and put the Reign ahead 3-1 in the third period with help from Steven Tarasuk, playing in his 2013-14 Reign debut, and Maxim Kitsyn. Brace caught the loose puck through scramble at the crease and backhanded it past Fullerton.

Just two minutes later, Burt found his way onto the board in the goal column with an unassisted marker at 4:07. Matt Tassone scored for Las Vegas to cut the Reign's lead to 4-2 but that would be the last tally of the night.

Olkinuora earned his fourth win with 27 saves; Fullerton took the loss with 31 saves.
