Walleye Notes
- Getting One of Three Again! For a second straight week, the Walleye finished up with one win out of three games played. The lone win for the Walleye came Wednesday night at Evansville when Toledo scored three unanswered goals to best the IceMen 3-2. The Walleye would only score three more goals the rest of weekend falling Friday night 3-1 to Cincinnati and Saturday night 4-2 vs. Elmira.
- Shooting Gallery! For the first time this season the Walleye would attempt 40 or more shots on goal in back to back games. Toledo sent 41 shots to the net in Friday's 3-1 loss to Cincinnati and followed it up with 40 shots in Saturday night's 4-2 loss to Elmira. Toledo has hit the 40 shot four times in the last 12 contests and is averaging 31.4 shots on goal in that span.
- Offensive Loss! Toledo has scored just 18 goals in the last 8 games (2.25 per game). The Walleye have a record of 2-6-0 in those eight games.
- Milestone Achieved! Toledo captain Kyle Rogers appeared in his 250th game in Toledo on Friday night. He is the Walleye All-Time in Games Played (251) and is just 11 games away from tying Nick Parillo (262) for third most in Toledo ECHL history.
- Fish Tales! Defenseman Richard Nedomlel is fifth among all ECHL defensemen with 86 penalty minutes. Forward Max Shalunov scored Toledo's second penalty shot goal of the season on Wednesday night in Evansville. Toledo is 2-2 in penalty shot opportunities this year.
- Gametime! Toledo goes against the North Division all week long. Back to back games on Tuesday and Friday will be played in Cincinnati. The Walleye are still looking for its first victory against the I-75 rivals as Toledo is just 0-4-1 against the Cyclones. To wrap up the week, Toledo will skate in Kalamazoo against the Wings. Toledo is 3-3-0 so far this season against Kalamazoo.
