York Revolution News Release
(York, PA): As the defending Atlantic League Champion York Revolution inch closer to clinching another playoff spot to defend their title, news came from the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office today that the seating bowl is sold out for Saturday evening's game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Only lawn tickets remain on September 17.
Fans with outstanding ticket vouchers, or tickets from previously rained out games are encouraged to exchange them for games other than Saturday's, if they wish to sit in the seating bowl. Such tickets may be exchanged for lawn tickets on Saturday. The Revs are currently home through Sunday.
The Revolution's largest crowd this season passed through the turnstiles at Sovereign Bank Stadium on Wednesday, July 13 for the Atlantic League All-Star Game, with 8,053 patrons. The largest regular season crowd for a Revs game in 2011 was Monday, August 22 when York hosted the Bridgeport Bluefish in front of 6,966 fans. According to Revolution President & General Manager Eric Menzer, 7,000 fans on Saturday night could be in sight.
"We'll see how the final totals shake out, but we're hopeful for a season-high crowd," said Menzer. "While we can't guarantee that, we still encourage any fans who would like to come to Saturday's game to purchase lawn tickets before they're gone too. A season-high crowd would be a fitting way to cap the last weekend of another fantastic regular season."
The lawn section at Sovereign Bank Stadium is located in right-center field, featuring a truly scenic view of the entire ballpark. Lawn chairs and blankets are permitted in the section, and the tickets are only $7 apiece.
"Our support continues to grow, and York has truly become a baseball town. We can't thank our fans enough for their support," Menzer said.
Saturday night will feature a giveaway of 2010 Atlantic League Champions caps, courtesy of OSS for the first 2,000 fans through the gate. Post-game fireworks will follow the contest, presented by the United States Marine Corp. and the York Daily Record/Sunday News & The York Dispatch.
Based on availability, tickets may be purchased for the final regular season home games this week, and playoff games by logging onto YorkRevolution.com, calling 717-801-HITS or visiting the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office at Sovereign Bank Stadium.
