KEIZER, OREGON - The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, already in one of the most thrilling Northwest League South pennant races in recent memory, hit the baseball jackpot today as the San Francisco Giants confirm its top two 2019 MLB First-Year Draft players are joining Volcanoes Nation.
"The relationship between Minor League affiliates and their respective Big Club is based deeply on trust," said Jerry Walker, Volcanoes Co-Owner. "The Volcanoes have earned the trust from the San Francisco Giants through being the start for future World Champions and successful players on the field and in life. We welcome Hunter Bishop and Logan Wyatt to continue that tradition."

Bishop, the 10th overall pick in the draft, played with the Arizona State Sun Devils for the last three seasons, with the 2019 season being his best statistically. Bishop posted a .324 batting average with 22 home runs and 63 RBI. All of which made Bishop a clear choice for first-team outfielder in the Pac-12 Conference. In 6 games in the Arizona League, Bishop had 5 hits in 20 at-bats with 3 doubles, a home run, and 2 RBI.
Wyatt's story is equally impressive, having helped lead the Louisville Cardinals to an appearance in the College World Series in Omaha alongside current Salem-Keizer Volcano Tyler Fitzgerald. During the 2019 season for the Cardinals, Wyatt had a .291 batting average, 12 doubles, 9 home run, and 53 RBI. All propelling Wyatt to second-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference. Also in 6 games in the Arizona League, Wyatt had 9 hits in 20 at-bats with a double and 9 RBI.
