Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

LAST NIGHT'S LOSS: Despite collecting 10 hits and nine walks, Omaha dropped a 5-4 decision to Nashville Wednesday night at Greer Stadium. The Storm Chasers lost their second straight game to fall to 28-35 and into third place in the American Conference North Division, five games behind front-running Memphis. Jarrod Dyson struck out to end the game with pinch runner Chase Lambin on second base.

TALKING BOUT WALKING: The Chasers have totaled 27 walks in their last four games, after forcing 21 walks in the first seven games this month. In three of those four games the Chasers have collected seven or more walks three times, after totaling seven or more walks only four times in the first 59 games this season. Johnny Giavotella has nine walks in his last six games, and he had totaled 22 walks in his first 56 games in 2013.

SAY HAYES KID: Brett Hayes extended his on-base streak to 19 games on Tuesday, and it is the longest active streak in the PCL and the second longest streak this season for a Storm Chasers batter (the longest streak was Anthony Seratelli's 20-game streak from May 10 to June 1). Hayes can become the 19th player in the league with an on- base streak of 20 or more games. In six games against Nashville, Hayes is batting .462 (12-for-26) with six homers, ten runs scored and 14 runs batted in.

FEW RUN RELIEF: The Omaha relief staff has not allowed a run in 19.1 straight innings dating back to June 7 against Oklahoma City. As far back as the series finale with Memphis on June 4, Omaha relievers have allowed only one earned run (and two runs total) in their last 29.1 innings. Chasers relievers have given up seven earned runs in 42.2 total innings this month, after giving up 50 earned runs in 89.1 innings in May.

SERATELLI BELOW .300: With his 0-for-4 game yesterday, Anthony Seratelli's batting average dipped below .300 for the first time since May 9. Seratelli has only started four games this season with an average below .300, the fewest times among Storm Chasers players with more than 10 games played in 2013.

PCL'S WORST SINCE MAY: After starting off the season with a 14-11 record in April, the Storm Chasers since the start of May have the worst record in the Pacific Coast League at 14-24. Nashville and Reno are tied for the second worst at 16-25.

BAD STARTS: Omaha has allowed 136 of their 297 runs in the first three innings (45.8%)
