Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK -- With four games remaining in the season, Round Rock opened its final home series with an 8-2 loss to Omaha on Friday.
In front of 9,045 fans at The Dell Diamond, the Royals pounded out 15 hits, including five doubles, to pick up their second win in as many days. The victory gives Omaha a 3-2 edge in the season series with three games remaining.
Round Rock starter Josh Muecke allowed six runs on 10 hits, two walks and a strikeout over six innings of his 11th loss, and reliever Geoff Geary yielded a pair of runs over the eighth and ninth in his return from the inactive list.
Reggie Abercrombie and Mark Saccomanno split four hits for Round Rock, but four Royals picked up at least two hits. Alex Gordon lifted his season batting average to .345 with three hits and Mario Lisson cranked out a trio of doubles, driving in a pair of runs.
The Express must win at least one of its final three games to avoid finishing with the worst Triple-A record in club history.
The two teams face off Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at The Dell Diamond. Following the game, all Round Rock players and field staff will raffle off their game-worn jerseys and personally sign each for every winning fan.
