LAST GAME: Oklahoma lost 12-10 to Iowa on Friday night. The RedHawks trailed 5-0 after two innings, but rallied to tie the game at six after five. The Cubs plated four runs in the seventh and two in the eighth to regain the lead, a deficit that Oklahoma could not overcome despite scoring three in the bottom of the ninth. Kiko Calero took the loss after allowing all four runs in the seventh, while Angel Guzman picked up his first win of the season. Oklahoma and Iowa combined for 34 hits, including 13 for extra bases, 23 strikeouts, and each club utilized five pitchers.

DOUBLE DIGIT DEBACLE: Oklahoma dropped to 2-15 when the opposition scores ten or more runs in a game. The RedHawks loss last night was their first this season when they score in double digits, dropping the club to 10-1 when scoring ten or more.

THE LONGEST TIME: Last's night game lasted three hours and 49 minutes, the longest nine inning game the RedHawks have played this season. Prior to Friday's game, the longest game of the season was on April 30 at Portland, a 9-8 Oklahoma win.

MAGIC NUMBER NEWS:

Oklahoma's magic number is down to two after a loss by New Orleans last night in Albuquerque. Any combination of RedHawk wins and New Orleans losses that add up to two will clinch the American South Division, which could happen as early as tonight.

GET'EM WHILE THEY LAST:

RedHawk playoff tickets are on sale at the ballpark and on the internet at www.oklahomaredhawks.com. Oklahoma would host game three on September 5 at 7:05 pm, and games four and five over the weekend if necessary. Saturday's game would also start at 7:05 pm, while the Sunday's tilt would begin at 2:05 pm.

MEDALIST:

Taylor Teagarden and Team USA clinched the bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a 8-4 come from behind win over Japan. Teagarden hit .188 over five games with two doubles, no home runs, and four runs batted in.

NEAR NEW HOME RUN KING:

Nelson Cruz became the RedHawks all-time, single season home run leader on July 19 with a three home run game. Cruz passed Steve Balboni's total during the 1993 season for second-most in Oklahoma's Triple-A history with his 37th home run in the seventh inning on July 27; the final home run in his 11 home run in ten games binge and last before getting placed on the disabled list on August 2. Dave Roberts holds first place on the all-time list with 38 home runs during the 1965 season.

THIRD PLACE:

Nelson Cruz remains five runs batted in shy of tying Nate Gold's RedHawks record 103 RBI set last season. Cruz's 98 RBIs are tied for ninth all-time in Oklahoma City's Triple-A history, matching Keith Moreland's 1978 total. Jason Botts drove in 102 in 2005, the second-most total in RedHawks history.

IOWA AT A GLANCE:

The Cub's magic number dropped to two with last night's win and a loss by Memphis at Omaha. Iowa could clinch the American North Division tonight with a win and another Memphis loss.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Nick Trzesniak was placed on the disabled list prior to Friday's game... Travis Metcalf was optioned by the Rangers on Friday and placed on RedHawks active roster today. To clear a spot for Metcalf, Adam Fox was transferred to Frisco... Elizardo Ramirez will be added to the roster prior to tonight's game. Ramirez is expected to take Brandon McCarthy's roster spot. McCarthy is slated to pitch for Texas tonight.
