The Albuquerque Isotopes scored three runs in the third and three runs in the seventh inning to continue their winning streak of the Zephyrs 9-1 in front of 12,742 at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque won its fourth in a row against the Zephyrs. Isotope starter Dallas Trahern earned his fifth win of the season pitching eight innings and allowed one run. Michael Ryan drove in three runs with a pair of base hits and Robert Andino hit a home run and had three hits for Albuquerque. New Orleans opened the game with four consecutive hits but managed just one run. New Orleans grounded into three double plays. Andy Green had three hits and a RBI for the Z's.
Game Notes: The Z's have dropped 11 of their last 12 games. The Zephyrs are officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Oklahoma Redhawks clinched the division title with the Zephyrs loss and the Redhawks win over Iowa. Catcher Robinson Cancel rejoined the Zephyrs from the Mets. Brandon Knight was awarded a bronze medal on Saturday for being part of Team USA at the Olympic games. Knight is expected to rejoin the Zephyrs on Monday in Omaha. The Zephyrs have allowed 12 innings of three or more runs allowed in the last 11 games.
