LAST GAME: Oklahoma fell 8-1 to Tucson in the series opener on Sunday evening. The Sidewinders broken open a 1-1 tie with a seven run, six hit seventh inning, sending 11 batters to the plate in the frame. Brian Gordon (3-3) pitched well over six plus innings until back-to-back walks with two outs, the first time Gordon has walked more than one batter in a game for Oklahoma this season. Chris Shelton and John Mayberry had two hits apiece for the RedHawks, who fell to 1-4 on the current homestand.
SCORELESS STREAK SNAPPED: Kea Kometani allowed two runs in the seventh inning last night to snap the RedHawk bullpen's scoreless innings streak at 17 consecutive innings. Oklahoma's bullpen had not allowed a run since July 29 in Colorado Springs.
GOLD RUSH:
Nate Gold extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the fourth inning last night. This is his third hitting streak of six games or more and is now his second longest of the season behind a 12 game streak from June 23 through July 5. Gold is hitting .367 during this streak, the longest current run by any RedHawk.
DOUBLE THEIR FUN:
The RedHawks grounded into four double plays Sunday, matching their season high. Oklahoma also hit into four double plays on April 17 at home against Round Rock. The RedHawks have hit into eight double plays during this homestand.
PACIFIC PROBLEMS:
Oklahoma's loss Sunday means that the RedHawks will finish regular season play with a losing record against the Pacific Conference this season, regardless of what happens over the next three days. The RedHawks are 12-17 against teams from the other conference this season, including a 4-9 record at the Brick.
NEW STAFF LEADER:
Keith Comstock took over as Oklahoma's pitching coach Sunday. Former coach Andy Hawkins was promoted to the Texas Rangers staff Friday evening. Comstock joined the Rangers organization as the AZL Rangers pitching coach in 2007 and became the rehab pitching coordinator this season. Comstock pitched professionally for 17 season and played for Minnesota, San Francisco, San Diego, and Seattle in the Major Leagues. He also spent two seasons in Japan pitching for the Yomuiri Giants. Comstock has been a manager or pitching coach in the minors leagues for three different organizations over the last 14 years.

: The Sidewinders have won four straight against Oklahoma dating back to last season... Oklahoma City native Jeff Salazar had two hits last night to extend his hitting streak to seven games, while teammate Josh Whitesell has hit safely in 11 consecutive games... Trent Oeltjen has the second longest current hitting streak in the league at 14 games.
AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:
Texas knocked off Toronto 8-4... Frisco blanked San Antonio 8-0... Bakersfield edged Lake Elsinore 8-7... Clinton fell 16-2 at Cedar Rapids... Spokane doubled up Tri-City 10-5.
DOT-DOT-DOT:
The RedHawks allowed seven runs in the seventh inning Sunday, the third time this season that the opposition has scored seven in one frame... Oklahoma dropped to 10-12 when Nelson Cruz is not in the starting lineup with last night's loss. Cruz is on the RedHawks disabled list with a strained left quad... Ryan Roberts had a six game hitting streak and an 11 game on base streak broken with an 0-4 performance Sunday... Oklahoma is now 8-11 on Sundays. The RedHawks are 10-7 in Monday contests this season, are 13-14 in day games, and hold a 3-3 record in Monday games played during the day.
