LAST GAME: The RedHawks beat the Nashville Sounds 7-2 last night and took three of four in the series at Greer Stadium. Oklahoma was forced to use a spot starter when Luis Mendoza was recalled earlier in the day. Kaz Fukumori filled the spot, pitching four plus innings of five hit ball, allowing two runs along the way. Wes Little ton retired all eight batters he faced to earn the win, and Bill White pitched two scoreless innings for his second save. The RedHawks trailed 2-1 in the sixth when Chris Davis hit his third home run of the series, a two-run shot to put Oklahoma in the lead to stay. The RedHawks added four runs in the top of the ninth, keyed by a two-run home run from John Mayberry.

ON A TEAR:

Nelson Cruz went 2-3 last night to raise his average to .360 and extend his hitting streak to a personal season-best 11 games. Cruz is batting .500 during this stretch, with 21 hits in 42 at bats during a streak that dates back to June 8. During that timespan, the RedHawks outfielder has raised his season average 32 points from .328, and now ranks third in the league in batting average.

BULLISH:

The RedHawks bullpen excelled during the four game series in Nashville, allowing four earned runs in 18.1 innings of relief work for a 1.96 ERA. Add in the two spot starts by relievers Steve Rowe and Kaz Fukumori, who combined to allow two earned runs over ten and two-thirds innings, and the earned run average drops from 1.96 to 1.86.

KEEPING SCORE:

Chris Davis has scored more runs this season than any other player in professional baseball this season. Davis has touched home 66 times this season, 43 of which came while he was still a member of the Frisco RoughRiders. Davis has one more run than Houston's Lance Berkman. Nelson Cruz ranks third with 64 runs scored.

BLALOCK BACK IN OKC:

Hank Blalock will join the RedHawks on a rehab assignment today. Blalock has been on the Rangers disabled list since April 29 with a torn left hamstring, but also underwent carpal tunnel release surgery on May 30. He is attempting to move across the diamond as well. After playing 1,101 games at third and eight at second during his professional career, Blalock will return to the Majors as a first baseman. The infielder played 95 games for the RedHawks in 2002, hitting .307 with eight home runs and 62 runs batted in.

ROUND ROCK AT A GLANCE:

The Express enter play seven and a half games behind the RedHawks in the division, and are coming off a series split with Omaha at the Dell Diamond, losing the last two games 3-2 and 3-2 in 13 innings, respectively. Last night's 13 inning game lasted four hours and 27 minutes... Round Rock went 8-17 in April, had a division-best 17-14 mark in May, and have won eight times in 18 games this month.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Chris Davis went 2-3 last night and extended his on-base streak to 24 games dating back to May 28, the longest this season by any RedHawk... Ryan Roberts has reached safely in his last 22 home games, while Jason Ellison has reached in his last 20 home contests... Oklahoma is 7-5 at home this month after a 6-6 mark at the Brick during May...
