SALT LAKE CITY (June 21, 2008) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has activated catcher Ryan Budde from the disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher David Austen on the disabled list with a right groin strain.

Budde, 28, was placed on the disabled list on May 30 with a right forearm strain. He has appeared in 29 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .181 with five doubles, two triples, one home run and 16 RBI. The Midwest City, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 12th round of the 2001 draft.

Austen, 27, has appeared in seven games for the Bees in 2008, owning a 1-1 record with a 4.38 ERA. In five games for the double-A Arkansas Travelers this season, Austen has a 0-1 record with a 4.61 ERA. He was previously placed on the disabled list on May 26 with a left knee strain and was activated on June 14. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 15th round of the 2003 draft.
