TODAY'S OPPONENT:
The Albuquerque Isotopes are the Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 2003 when they moved from Calgary. Last year, the Isotopes finished fourth in the American South Division with a 70-72 record.
VS. ALBUQUERQUE:
The two teams split a four-game series at Isotopes Park June 11-14. First game of the series was rained out and made up as part of a doubleheader June 13. The RedHawks won the first game of the doubleheader and the final game of series. The RedHawks won four of the seven games played at The Brick this season.
TODAY'S GAME:
This will be game 140 of the season and the first of a 4-game series between Oklahoma and Albuquerque. This is the 12th of 15 meetings between the RedHawks and Isotopes this season.
LAST GAME:
The RedHawks dropped their season-high sixth straight game, losing 6-4 to New Orleans. The Zephyrs scored four runs on four hits in the second inning to take a 4-0. The RedHawks got on the board in the third on Tug Hulett's RBI single. Hulett finished the game, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Z's scored two more runs in the fifth on two more hits to make the lead 6-1. The Hawks add another run in the sixth on Victor Diaz's 10th homer of the season, and two more in the eighth to make the score 6-4. Starter Armando Galarraga took the loss, allowing six runs on six hits in five innings.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Chris Baker
will make his 11th start of the season for the RedHawks. He didn't figure in the decision in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday at Nashville as he allowed two runs on five hits in four innings. Baker was 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA in three games, including one start, against the Isotopes last season for Round Rock. The Isotopes will send Wes Obermueller to the mound. Obermueller hasn't faced the RedHawks in his career.
HAWKS HOME ON THE ROAD:
The RedHawks are 22-10 in their last 32 road games. The Hawks are hitting .279 with 42 homers in the last 32 road games. They have outscored their opponents 181-105 during that time. The pitching staff has a 2.94 ERA in that stretch. Compare that to the last 29 home games where the Hawks went 9-20 with a 5.12 ERA.
HOME/ROAD RIDDLE:
The RedHawks are one of only three teams from low-A ball to the major leagues with a losing record at home and at least a .500 record on road. The Hawks are 34-38 at The Brick and 35-32 on the road. Single-A Palm Beach of the Florida State League is 33-36 at home and 37-31 on the road, and Single-A Fort Meyers of the Florida State League is 33-36 at home and 34-34 on the road.
LOOKING FOR OFFENSE:
The RedHawks have combined to score just 15 runs in losing their last six games. The Hawks are 10-for-44 with runners in scoring position during that time. The RedHawks have homered only once during their 6-game losing streak.
GOLDEN NUMBERS:
Gold has put up big power numbers this month, with 11 homers with 29 RBIs in 30 August games. Gold leads the RedHawks with 24 home runs and 98 RBIs. The RedHawks are 12-2 in the last 14 games Gold has homered.
FRANKLYN THE CLOSER:
German has converted his last three save chances. He leads the Hawks with six saves. German has allowed only one run, with 17 strikouts in his last 11 appearances, spanning 11.1 IP.
LEAGUE LEADERS:
Freddy Guzman leads the league with 51 stolen bases. Tug Hulett is tied for third with 92 runs scored, Luther Hackman is fourth with 18 saves and Gold is fifth with 98 RBIs.

The RedHawks are 13-7 on Friday this season, and they're 23-12 in the first game of a series...the RedHawks are 6-0-4 in their last 10 road series...in the last 11 games, the Hawks are 4-2 when Guzman gets a hit, and 0-5 when he goes hitless...Hulett has three homers and 11 RBIs in his last 11 games... Francisco Cruceta hasn't allowed an earned run in his last five appearances, and he has allowed only three earned runs with 28 strikeouts over his last 15 appearances, spanning 30.1 innings...Randy Williams hasn't allowed a run in 9.1 innings over his last six appearances.
