
Mets Call Up Pelfrey, Humber, Collazo

The New York Mets announced today that prior to tomorrow's game against Atlanta, they will recall righthanded pitchers Mike Pelfrey and Philip Humber and select the contract of lefthanded pitcher Willie Collazo from New Orleans (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.
Pelfrey will wear uniform #34, Humber will wear #49 and Collazo will don #36.
Pelfrey, 23, went 3-6 with a 4.01 ERA in 14 starts this season for New Orleans (AAA). In 74.0 innings, he allowed 74 hits, 35 runs, 33 earned, with 26 walks and 56 strikeouts.
Mike is 0-7 with a 5.92 ERA this year for the Mets. In 48.2 innings, he's yielded 57 hits, 33 runs, 32 earned, with 24 walks and 27 strikeouts.
He was New York's first round draft pick (ninth overall) in 2005 from Wichita State University.
Humber, 24, was 11-9 with a 4.27 ERA in 25 starts this season for the Zephyrs. He is 10th in the PCL in ERA and tied for fourth in victories.
Philip has allowed three hits and one earned run over his last 13.1 innings at New Orleans, including 8.1 innings of no-hit baseball on August 22nd vs. Iowa
In 139.0 innings at New Orleans, Humber surrendered 129 hits, 70 runs, 66 earned, with 44 walks and 120 strikeouts
He was the Mets first round pick (third overall) in 2004 from Rice University.
Humber appeared in two games last season for the Mets and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings.
Collazo, 27, went 6-5 with four saves and a 2.46 ERA this year with the Zephyrs. In 53 games, he worked 98.2 innings, allowing 91 hits, 33 runs, 27 earned, with 19 walks and 69 strikeouts.
Willie was 6-2 with a 1.90 ERA in 49 games in relief after making four starts for New Orleans. Also, in 20 games since the Triple-A All-Star Game, he has posted a 0.50 ERA (two earned runs/36.1 innings).
His first appearance will be his major league debut.
