TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Last season, the Sky Sox finished last in the Pacific North with a record of 66-77.

VS. COLORADO SPRINGS:

The RedHawks won three of four games last season at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs. The Hawks hit .315 with five home runs in the series. RedHawk pitchers had a 3.41 ERA and allowed only two home runs. In '05 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, the RedHawks swept four games from the Sky Sox.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 57 of the season. It's the third game of a four-game series and the third of four meetings between Oklahoma and Colorado Springs this season.

LAST GAME:

Eight of nine RedHawks had at least one hit as the RedHawks routed Colorado Springs 16-2. The RedHawks scored at least three runs in four different innings. Starter Mark Redman earned his first win of the season by allowing two runs on nine hits in six innings.

PITCHING MATCHUP: John Koronka

gets the call for the RedHawks today. Koronka made his last start for Texas Wednesday at Oakland. In his last start for the RedHawks 5/25, Koronka won at Iowa , snapping the RedHawks' five-game losing streak. The Sky Sox will send Bobby Keppel to the mound. Keppel was 0-1 with a 2.79 ERA in three games, including one start against the RedHawks last season as a member of the Omaha Royals.

STARTERS LOOKING GOOD:

The RedHawks have received some good starting pitching during this homestand. In the six games since returning to The Brick, the starters are 2-1 with a 1.60 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched. For the season, the starters are 15-21 with a 5.30 ERA.

REDHAWKS STRIKE GOLD: Nate Gold

had a big day yesterday, going 5-for-5 with two doubles, two homers, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Gold lacked just a triple for the cylce. He has homered in two straight games, and is the first RedHawk to have a multi-homer game since Adam Hyzdu did it Aug. 12 of last season. The seven RBIs are the most in a game for a RedHawk since Adrian Gonzalez did it 6/22/04 at Albuquerque. The five hits and five runs are the most for a RedHawk in a game this season. Over the last six games, Gold is hitting .458 (11-24) with four homers and 14 RBIs.

HOT BOTTS:

Botts continues to swing a hot bat after going 2-for-3 with a triple and four runs scored yesterday. Botts is hitting .373 with 28 RBIs over his last 32 games. For the season, Botts is hitting .298 with four home runs and a 42 RBIs. Botts is fourth in the PCL with 42 RBIs and first with 20 doubles.

STREAKING: Freddy Guzman

brings a season-high seven-game hitting streak into today's game after going 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored yesterday. Guzman is hitting .464 (13-28) with a homer and three RBIs. David Matranga has six-game hit streak going. Matranga is hitting .409 (9-22) with three home runs and seven RBIs. Gold and Botts each have six-game streaks going aswell.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

. The RedHawks had their third-highest hit game this season with 20...the 16 runs tie for second most this season in a game...The RedHawks won back-to-back games yesterday for the first time since May 18th and 19th vs. Iowa...The Hawks lead the PCL with six home runs this month...Hawk pitchers didn't walk a batter yesterday...The RedHawks have now won six straight against Sky Sox at The Brick dating back to '05...Botts has played in every game this season.
