New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs won their third-straight game Monday, defeating the visiting Salt Lake Bees by a score of 8-3.
Starting pitcher Philip Humber (6-4) gets the win for New Orleans, as Humber gave up three runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings. He also struck out five batters.
Closer Ambiorix Burgos struck out two of the final three batters in the final inning to end the game.
Third baseman Fernando Tatis and first baseman Andy Tracy each had solo homers in the game. Tracy finished 2-4 and knocked in an additional run on single as well.
Bees starting pitcher Pedro Liriano (1-7) records a loss after giving up four runs on six hits in six innings.
The win gives the Zephyrs a 3-0 lead in the series. New Orleans will try for the series sweep in the final game of the homestand Tuesday in a game scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
