TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last year, Nashville finished tied for first in the PCL's American North Division with a 76-68 record. The Sounds won the division title by tie-breaker over Iowa.

TODAY'S GAME:

Game six of the season, and second game of four-game series with Nashville.

LAST GAME:

The RedHawks got back in the win column with a 7-2 victory over Nashville. Three RedHawks had two hits in the game. Jason Botts led the way with two doubles and two RBIs. The seven runs are the most in a game this season by the RedHawks. Starter Francisco Cruceta gave up two runs (1 ER) in five innings for the win. Cruceta combined with three relievers to only allow two runs on three hits.

VS. Nashville:

The RedHawks were 5-11 overall against Nashville last year and 1-6 at Herschel Greer stadium. The RedHawks hit .239 against Nashville pitching with 14 home runs in 2006. RedHawk pitchers posted a 4.99 ERA against Nashville.

PITCHING MATCHUP:

The RedHawks send John Koronka to the mound. Koronka (6 IP) gave up 4 earned runs in the season-opener and received a no-decision in a 5-4 Oklahoma win. Nashville sends Zach Jackson to the hill. Jackson went 0-1 in two starts vs. Oklahoma in '06.

BATS COME ALIVE:

After a rough start in Memphis, the RedHawks got 10 hits against Nashville last night. The three hits Oklahoma got with runners in scoring postion were more than they had total through the first four games (2).

BOBBY JONES:

The RedHawks have a new manager for 2007. Bobby Jones returns to the dugout for Oklahoma after spending last season as Texas' first base/outfield coach. Jones will begin his second stint as Oklahoma's manager, and his third as a Triple-A manager in Oklahoma City. Jones led the RedHawks to three division titles (2002, '04-'05) in four seasons from '02-'05. Jones is the winningest manager in Oklahoma City Triple-A history with 422..

LIGHTS OUT:

RedHawk relievers Willie Erye, A.J. Murray and Frank Francisco combined for four shutout innings. The bullpen is yet to give up a run with 18 strikeouts in 14.2 IP

THE RANGER SHUTTLE:

The RedHawks have four pitchers on the opening roster who pitched for Texas at some time during 2006. Koronka, Josh Rupe, Wes Littleton and Frank Francisco all saw action for the Rangers. Rupe had a 3.41 ERA in 29 IP with Texas over 16 appearances. Littleton (1.73 ERA in 36.1 IP) became only the second Ranger in club history to pitch 30 or more innings and finish with an ERA under 2.00. Francisco had a 4.91 ERA in 7.1 IP for Texas after spending most of the year on the disabled list.

BRICKTOWN SHOWDOWN:

The Triple-A Championship Game will be played Sept. 18 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. It will feature the champions of the PCL and IL.

DOT-DOT-DOTS:

Francisco has struck out five of the six hitters he has faced this season ... Erye has retired 13 of the 16 batters he has faced ... Freddy Guzman has hit safely in each of the last three games.
