LAST GAME: The RedHawks and Isotopes traded runs throughout the game before Kevin Mench's decisive home run in the eighth inning. Oklahoma struck first on Nelson Cruz's seventh home run of the season, a two run shot to stake starter Doug Mathis to an early lead. Albuquerque answered with two runs of their own in the top of the second, but the RedHawks regained the lead on a Casey Benjamin home run in their half of the second. The teams battled back and fourth, with the Isotopes tying the contest four times and the RedHawks regaining the lead in their next subsequent at bat. Albuquerque managed to tie the game at five in the top of the eighth, but Mench hit a solo home run in the bottom half to put the RedHawks up for good. Yukinaga Maeda earned his first win, and Robinson Tejeda notched his first save.

WELCOME TO AMERICA: Yukinaga Maeda made his United States debut in last night's win over Albuquerque. Maeda had pitched 19 seasons in Japan before signing on as a free agent with Texas earlier this month. The southpaw entered the game in the top of the seventh, replacing RedHawks starter Doug Mathis, and pitched two innings. The native of Fukuoka, Japan allowed one run and took a blown save, but also earned the win in his first appearance.

FUKUMORI RETURNS: Kazuo Fukumori was optioned to Oklahoma yesterday afternoon as the Rangers made room for former RedHawk Sidney Ponson. Fukumori returns for his second stint in an Oklahoma uniform this month, where he went 0-0 with an ERA of 0.00. The right-hander had retired 15 consecutive Triple-A batters prior to his recall to the Rangers on April 24.

ANOTHER DEBUT: Taylor Teagarden made his Triple-A debut in last night's win over Albuquerque. Teagarden went 0-2 with two walks in his first game for Oklahoma. The 23 year-old catcher split last season ebtween Bakersfield and Frisco, and had played 16 games for the RoughRiders this season prior to his promotion.

SAVE US: Robinson Tejeda earned his first professional save last night. Tejeda has made 199 appearances combined in his professional career, including 169 starts, but has pitched exclusively in the bullpen this season. Current RedHawks save leader Frank Francisco was added to the Rangers bullpen earlier this week, and Bill White, owner of the only other Oklahoma save, had pitched in two consecutive games.

ALBUQUERQUE AT A GLANCE: The Isoptopes loss was just their fourth on the road this season compared to nine wins.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Texas lost 12-6 to Minnesota... Frisco edged Corpus Christi 3-2... Bakersfield beat High Desert 7-3... Clinton fell 6-1 to Lansing.

DOT-DOT-DOT: Jason Ellison's on-base streak was snapped at 17 games with an 0-4 performance in last night's win... Kaz Fukumori will return to Oklahoma and will don the number 14 once again. Fukumori wore the number during his first stint, but it was given to fellow countryman Yukinaga Maeda earlier this week upon his assignment to the RedHawks. Maeda will switch to the number 2 for today...
