Sidewinders Blank Rainiers In 4-0 Win

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders went on their first 2-game win streak of the season, shutting out Tacoma in a 4-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Tucson Electric Park. Four different pitchers for the Sidewinders contribute to the shutout and didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning.

Right-hander Chris Kinsey started the game going 3 1/3 innings, walked three batters, but didn't allow a hit in his outing. Cody Evans, who replaced Kinsey midway in the third inning, got his first win in a Sidwinders' uniform. He allowed two hits, two walks, and struck out three batters 3 2/3 innings of work.

Tucson's Jalien Peguero and Leo Rosales closed it out for the Sidwinders, going a combined two innings, a hit, walk, and strike out.

Tucson put up four in the seventh inning and got two of their runs on RBI singles by Emilio Bonifacio and Tim Raines Jr. Trot Nixon hit a double to right to bring in the other two runs in the seventh. The single for Bonifacio was one of three in the game for the leadoff hitter.

The Sidewinders go on the road to face the Round Rock Express for a four game series beginning on Monday. The first game will start at 5:05 PM and will be aired live on COOL 1450 beginning at 4:55 p.m.
