ORLANDO - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, dropped the second game of the 2021 season losing to the Oklahoma City Blue 118-84.

The Stars were led offensively with 19 points from Paul White. The big man added six rebounds, one assist and one steal after not playing in the Stars opener on Wednesday. Malik Benlevi scored 14 points off the bench, while Yogi Ferrell and Malcolm Miller each chipped in with 11 points to round out Stars scorers in double figures.

Blue forward Antonius Cleveland finished with a game-high 25 points while rookie guard Rob Edwards contributed 21 points off the bench in his professional debut. Thunder two-way player Moses Brown logged a double-double scoring 15 points while pulling in 17 rebounds. Brown also added four blocks to lead the team defensively.

Oklahoma City got off to a hot start as Cleveland scored the game's first 10 points and after a Brown bucket the Blue raced out to a 12-0 lead. The Stars would climb back into the game finishing the quarter on a 7-0 run capped by a Ferrell buzzer-beater to end the first quarter tied at 22.

The Stars would then take the lead just over four minutes into the second quarter on a Ferrell floater to make it 32-31. The Blue would respond by finishing the quarter on a 12-2 run to end the half and take a 56-41 advantage into the locker room. The Stars would never get closer than eight in the second half as Oklahoma City closed the third quarter on a 15-7 run and then outscored Salt Lake City 28-14 in the final frame.

Salt Lake City will get Friday off before returning to action against the Iowa Wolves (Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate) on Saturday. The game tips off at 1:30 p.m. (MT) and is available to be streamed on ESPN+.
