Tulsa Oilers News Release

Breather: The Tulsa Oilers and the rest of the Central Hockey League pause this week for the all-star game. Jeff Christian will represent the Oilers as the CHL all-stars take on the host Colorado Eagles Wednesday night. The Oilers return to regular season action starting a five game home stand against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday and Mississippi RiverKings Saturday. Both games start at 7:35 p.m.

Real Winner: Wednesday will be Christian's third CHL all-star game, and he has scored the game winning goal for the North team in each of his previous two all-star appearances.

New Era: The Oilers began the Tony Martino era as new coach of the Oilers last week. The former Oiler goaltender coached his first game January 6^th (a 5-4 loss to the Texas Brahmas). The Oilers dropped a 6-0 decision to Mississippi and then lost 5-4 in overtime at Oklahoma City on Saturday night.

Still Leading: Even with the overtime loss Saturday, the Oilers still lead the season series Turnpike Rivalry with Oklahoma City. The Oilers are 3-1-2, having earned eight of a possible 12 points in the head to head match up (Oklahoma City is 3-3-0 for six points).

Hot Hands: Left winger Brett McConnachie had two goals and one assist in the Oilers game at Oklahoma City. Right winger Mike Mullen also had a two goal and one assist this week, turning the trick against Texas.
