Odessa Jackalopes News Release

(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes are doing their part to try and improve the life of local resident, June Daniel. During their January 23rd and 24th games, the Jacks will be raising money to support Daniel's fight against breast cancer.

With the help of the Hope Foundation, partial proceeds from the team's jersey auction after Saturday's game combined with a dollar from each walk-up ticket sold to the weekend's games will be donated to Daniel's cause.

Fans are encouraged to bid on the jerseys worn in the games by the Jackalopes' players after Saturday night's game. Along with donating to Daniel's cause, winning bidders receive the game-worn jersey they bid on, as well as an opportunity to meet the player and have him autograph the jersey.

A press conference will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at noon to introduce June Daniel and display the pink jerseys that the Jackalopes will wear during their "Pink at the Rink" weekend games to raise the funds. The Jackalopes will also play with pink sticks in the weekend's games as well.

"Pink at the Rink" weekend is January 23rd and 24th when the Jackalopes face New Mexico and Tulsa. Both games begin at 7:05 PM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org.
