1- The 2009 CHL All-Star Game is scheduled for Wednesday night (1/14/09) with a team of CHL All-Stars taking on the host team, the Colorado Eagles. It marks the first non-traditional (north vs. south, east vs. west, league vs. league) format in the game's history. Face-off is scheduled for 7:15 PM (MST). The 2009 CHL All-Star Game is presented by Poudre Valley Health System.
2- The All-Star game can be seen LIVE on Altitude Sports and Entertainment (Dish Network channel 410 and DirecTV channel 681) as well as on the CHL Network which will carry the game LIVE in most areas (blackout restrictions apply in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah). The game will also be offered via the CHL Network on a tape delay in the days following the game. The broadcast teams for the game are Tori Holt, Kevin McGlue and Lauren Gardner, all representing the Colorado Eagles, for the Altitude broadcast and Travis Huntington (Bossier-Shreveport), Scott Swanson (Colorado) and Jordan Duvall (Arizona) doing the local radio broadcast and simulcast on CHL Network.
3- Colorado forward Greg Pankewicz is having another outstanding season totaling 50 points (25-25=50) in 33 games. He is tied for first in the CHL with his 25 goals and ranks fourth with 50 points. This will be his fifth all-star game and the Drayton Valley, Alberta native is already the all-star record holder with 17 points and nine assists. With one more all-star goal, Pankewicz will break the goals scored record in all-star play. During the 2005 CHL All-Star Game in Laredo, Texas, Pankewicz set individual game records with nine points and five goals in the Northern Conference's 14-13 shootout win.
4- Two players originally named to the 2009 CHL All-Star team will be unable to participate. Wichita's Jason Duda and Mississippi's Louis Dumont will not play in the game and instead have been replaced by Thunder forward Chris Greene and RiverKings forward Bobby Chaumont. It is the first all-star game for Greene and the second for Chaumont.

27 The most combined goals scored in a CHL All-Star game accomplished in 2005 in Laredo...The Northern Conference won the game 14-13 in a shootout with former Eagles forward Mike Lukajic (with Topeka) scoring the shootout game winner...Travis Clayton, Jason Duda and Greg Pankewicz all played in the 2005 game
2006 The last all-star game that penalties were called in (in Rio Grande Valley)...both Amarillo defenseman Mark DeSantis (now with Rapid City) and Mississippi defenseman Derek Landmesser were whistled for minor penalties...Neither the North or South could score with the man advantage...Woirking the 2009 CHL All-Star Game is referee Mark Lemelin and linesmen Pat Smith and Jordan Crowell
ONE-TIMERS
-The team that has scored first has won the last four all-star games...Eventual game Most Valuable Player Alex Leavitt (ARZ) scored the game's first goal last year in the Southern Conference's 11-6 victory
-During the 2005 all-star game in Laredo, the two teams combined for 148 shots on goal setting the CHL All-Star record...The North outshot the South 75-73 and won the game 14-13 in a shootout...Colorado's Greg Pankewicz and Laredo's Adam Paiement recorded 11 shots on goal
