Oilers Top Brahmas 1-0

Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Brahmas were unable to find the back of the net on Friday night as Ian Keserich shut Texas out for the second time this season, leading the Oilers to a 1-0 victory at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

Brahmas netminder Steve Silverthorn made 18 saves on 19 shots, allowing only one goal to the Oilers. But Keserich's performance was too much for the Brahmas to overcome. The Tulsa goaltender stopped all 23 shots fired on net by Texas.

Oilers forward Gary Steffes scored the lone goal of the game - his 13th goal of the season - at the 17:47 mark of the second period to give Tulsa the 1-0 lead. The Brahmas defense kept the game close down to the end, but Texas could not put the puck past Keserich.

Texas drops to 1-4-0 against Tulsa this season but remains three points ahead of the Oilers for third place in the Berry Conference. The Brahmas are back on the ice on Saturday as they face off against the Laredo Bucks at 7:30pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

For ticket information, call 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com . The NYTEX Sports Centre offers speedy and reliable Wi-fi provided by Great Auk Wireless. Also, visit ZuRoma at the NYTEX Sports Centre and Keller locations. All Brahmas away games are shown at ZuRoma through CHL-TV.
