BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Tulsa Oilers bounced back after last night's 8-0 drubbing to beat the Mudbugs 3-2 at CenturyTel Center on Saturday night.
Tulsa went two of six on the power play, taking an early first period lead on goals by Brian LaChapelle and Dave Rattray. The Bugs responded with a Kyle Mussleman goal in the second period. Chris Abbott tied it 2-2 at 1:31 in the third period on his power play goal.
Tulsa got the final score as Chase Decker scored a game winning goal on a breakaway. Bill Ruggiero was the winning goaltender for Tulsa, stopping 31 of 33 shots. Ken Carroll absolved the loss stopping 33 of 36. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday morning in Tulsa. The puck drops at 10:05 AM for a school children's game at the Tulsa Convention Center.
