Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Loveland, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage and Colorado Eagles played the finale of their 12-game season series at the Budweiser Events Center, and the Eagles prevailed, 3-1, behind a goal and an assist from Seth Leonard. Rocky Mountain ends the 12-game set with a mark of 2-9-1 against their Front Range rivals.

Scoreless through the opening 20 minutes, the Eagles' Steve Haddon knocked home the game's first goal at 14:55 of the second to give the CHL's top team a 1-0 lead heading to the third.

It didn't take long for the Rage's Chip Dunleavy to tie the contest early in the final frame. With the teams skating four-on-four, Craig Olynick spun a wrist shot through traffic that was re-directed by Dunleavy for his 12th of the campaign at 1:31. Colorado moved back in front at 6:36 when from behind the goal Chris Hartsburg fed Leonard, who finished top shelf from the low slot.

Rocky Mountain's David Guerrera made 43 saves during the game with many of his best coming throughout the third to keep his club within a single goal. At 18:00, though, Leonard and Hartsburg combined to throw a puck toward Guerrera, and Riley Nelson tallied an insurance marker off a rebound for the final margin.

The Rage, who had won two straight coming into tonight, fall to 14-34-5 and with 33 points remain in fourth place in the Northwest Division.

Rocky Mountain now returns home to Broomfield Event Center to host the Wichita Thunder on Thursday, March 8, at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the clash against the Thunder and all remaining home games are on sale with prices ranging from $9-$40 per seat.
