Oilers Return Alex Plante to the Barons

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers returned defenseman Alex Plante to the Oklahoma City Barons Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Plante was recalled by the Oilers November 22 and played in the Oilers 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators. That marks the second recall by the Oilers this season. Plante, a 6-4, 230-pounder from Brandon, Manitoba has played in nine NHL games, recording two assists. He returns to the Barons where he has played in 17 games, recording five assists and 48 penalty minutes. Plante will join the Barons in Grand Rapids, Mich. in advance of their contest with the Griffins later tonight.

Tonight, the Barons take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6 p.m. (ct). Saturday, the team travels to Rockford for a date with the IceHogs at 7 p.m. (ct). Sunday, the Barons return to Grand Rapids for a 4 p.m. (ct) game with the Griffins. All three games can be heard on the flagship station for Barons Hockey, 96.1 KXY and online at sportsjuice.com.
