EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers announced today that the club has recalled forward Zack Stortini from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Stortini, 21, was previously recalled from Hamilton on January 19th and made his NHL debut with the Oilers in Edmonton's 4-0 loss to the Calgary Flames at Rexall Place on January 20th. Stortini was scoreless with 10 penalty minutes in the game and was sent back to Hamilton before the NHL All-Star break on January 21st.

Appearing in 43 games with Hamilton this season, Stortini has posted career-highs in points (15) and goals (9), while currently leading the AHL in penalty minutes with 172. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Elliot Lake, Ontario, was drafted by the Oilers in the 3rd round, 94th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.
