Oilers Gear Up For Key Weekend
February 10, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Now entrenched in second place of the Central Hockey League ¬â¢s Berry Conference the Tulsa Oilers hope the recent blast of hockey weather will inspire them in their return to the BOK Center this weekend.
The Oilers have 50 points and will face two teams chasing them in the standings. The Texas Brahmas (47 points) visit Friday and the Oilers host the Mississippi RiverKings (46 points) on Saturday. Both games start at 7:35 p.m.
¬ÅIt ¬â¢s a big weekend for us, ¬Â Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. ¬ÅWe ¬â¢ve got a chance to put some space between us and a couple of teams right behind us. And I know they are thinking they have a chance to make things even tighter than they are. ¬Â
The Oilers did receive word that CHL leading scorer Chad Costello has been called up to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. Costello has ridden a 17 game point streak to the top of the CHL scoring chart with 28 goals and 44 assists for 72 points in 46 games.
¬ÅHe certainly deserves this opportunity, ¬Â Ramsay said. ¬ÅI ¬â¢m proud of him and happy for him. ¬Â
Tickets for all Oiler games are available at the BOK Box Office, Tickets.com, Tulsa area Reasor ¬â¢s stores, and by calling 1-866-7BOK-CTR (866-725-5287). More information is available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
