Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - Rapid City forward Les Reaney made the most of his two breakaway opportunities and the Rush (5-1-1) skated away with a 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers (4-3-1) in front of 3,101 at the BOK Center on Tuesday night.

With Tulsa on a 4-on-3 powerplay in the third period, Reaney took a loose puck the length of the ice and roofed a wrist shot past Ian Keserich to tie the game at three. In the extra frame, Reaney capitalized on another Oilers turnover and skated in all alone on Keserich to put away the game winning goal.

Rapid City opened the scoring with a first period powerplay goal by Shawn Limpright. Tulsa tied the game at one in the second period on Dylan Clarke's third tally of the year and Mike Ullrich gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead at the 12:04 mark of the middle period with his fifth goal in the last three games. After Limpright put home his second powerplay goal of the night to even the score at two, Oilers rookie David Solway won a faceoff and beat Rush goalie Tim Boron for his first professional goal to give the advantage back to Tulsa.

Rapid City's special teams play made the difference down the stretch. The Rush went two for three with the man advantage, scored a shorthanded goal and shut down all eight of Tulsa's powerplay opportunities.

The Oilers outshot the Rush 37-23 and generated quality scoring chances throughout the game, but Boron stood tall in net for Rapid City and earned his third win of the season.

The Oilers are back on the road Friday night when they take on Missouri at 7:05pm. It will be the first meeting of the season with the Mavericks.
