Tulsa Oilers News Release

The Tulsa Oilers will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, December 21 during their game at the BOK Center at 7:35 p.m. against the Missouri Mavericks.

After the Oilers score their first goal of the game, all Oilers fans are encouraged to throw teddy bears or other stuffed animals over the glass and onto the ice surface. The teddy bears will be collected for the Salvation Army and donated to under-privileged children around the Tulsa area.

A tradition of professional, minor league, and junior hockey teams across North America, the Teddy Bear Toss is one of the most popular Oilers promotions of the season and another opportunity for the Oilers franchise to give something back to the Tulsa community.

The Oilers begin a four-game home stand tonight at 7:35 p.m. against the Quad City Mallards. In addition to the Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday night, the Oilers are proud to welcome Dora The Explorer to the BOK Center. The popular TV character will meet her adoring fans and drop the ceremonial puck prior to tomorrow's tilt against the Missouri Mavericks. Following a Christmas break, the Oilers return to home ice on Thursday, December 26 against the Allen Americans and Friday, December 27 to take on the Wichita Thunder. For both contests, the Oilers will wear special ugly Christmas sweater jerseys which will be auctioned off immediately following Friday's game.
