Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - The WHL has nominated Edmonton Oil Kings goalie Torrie Jung for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award. Jung posted a 2-0-0-0 record this past week with a shut-out, allowing just three goals on 42 shots for a 1.500 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.

"The individual recognition is nice, but the team has been playing really well in front of me and they deserve lots of the credit." said Jung on his bus ride down to Medicine Hat.

The 4 nothing shutout over the Moose Jaw Warriors was his second shutout of the year and third of his career and he was able to accomplish the feat with his father watching him for the first time in an Oil Kings jersey thanks to Parents Weekend.

Jung, a 19 year-old from Nanaimo, British Columbia, is playing in his third WHL season and first with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He was selected in the 7th round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lighting.

This marks the first time that an Oil King has been chosen for any of the WHL's weekly honors.
