
Americans' Procyshen named Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week

CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Taylor Procyshen of the Tri-City Americans.
Procyshen picked up seven points, scoring two goals and five assists to go with a +4 rating, in three games over the past week, helping the Americans post a 3-0-0-0 record in that span.
On Wednesday, November 26th, the Americans hosted the Everett Silvertips at the Toyota Center in Tri-City. Procyshen scored both the Americans goals as they went onto defeat the Silvertips 2-1. He was also named the games 1st Star.
On Friday, November 28th, the Tri-City Americans hosted WHL U.S. Division arch rivals the Spokane Chiefs. Procyshen picked up three assists as the Ams downed the Chiefs 5-1 earning him another games 1st Star honour. The next evening, Saturday, November 29th, the WHL Western Conference leading Vancouver Giants rolled into the Toyota Center to face the Americans. Procyshen added another two assists to his point total on the week as the Americans went on to win their fifth straight game defeating the Giants 5-3.
With the Americans winning their three games this past week they extend their winning streak to five and find themselves atop the WHL U.S. Division and just five points back of the Vancouver Giants for top spot in the Western Conference.
Procyshen, a 20-year-old native of Emerald Park, Saskatchewan, is currently playing his fourth full season in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans. During his WHL career he has appeared in 215 games scoring 166 points to date.
The WHL has also nominated Torrie Jung of the Edmonton Oil Kings for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award. Jung posted a 2-0-0-0 record this past week with a shut-out, allowing just three goals on 42 shots for a 1.500 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.
Jung, a 19 year-old from Nanaimo, British Columbia, is playing in his third WHL season and first with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He was selected in the 7th round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lighting.
