Jory Recovering From Scary Injury

WINDSOR, Ont. - Brock University men's hockey freshman goaltender Kurt Jory (Brandon, Man.) is in full recovery after undergoing surgery to repair a vein in his neck. He has come through the surgery with no complications and will return to St. Catharines in a few days.

Jory was immediatley rushed to hospital after suffering a severed vein during a scramble in front of the net during the third period of Saturday night's game against Windsor.

A former member of the Brandon Wheat Kings, Jory played seventeen games during the 2005-06 Western Hockey League season. The following year, he dressed for two games in Brandon before being traded to the Moose Jaw Warriors. In Moose Jaw, the 6' 185 lb goalkeeper appeared in 29 games.

During the 2005-06 campaign, the Brandon product compiled a 5-6-1 record and a 3.51 goals against average.

Brock University Athletics would like to thank student therapist Katie Sawicky and the Windsor Lancers Athletic Therapy staff for their immeidate and professional response to this serious injury.
